Pretty much everything that went wrong during that chapter is Lee Won’s fault, he really isn’t the sharpest tool in the toolbox some days. He could have told his father before the meeting or at the very least been on time and not left them 2 alone when he went to the bathroom. Not to mention, he could have told them both about the assassin that wants to kill him, that could have brought them together to save the one they love. But Lee Won is overly confident when he shouldn’t be, he’s going to get himself in deep trouble if he tries to do it all on his own with the ones that want him dead.
I dunno, I think Lee Won is trying to get the whole situation cautiously, cause the assassin he thought he can trust told him that he actually put his eyes on Lee Won thoroughly on someone else’s order.
He cannot told them (his own father and damn fiance(?)) cause he suspects the assassin were ordered by one of their close acquittance (it can be Dmitri or the Lomonosov heir). He subtly asked his father is the assassin can be trusted and his father obliviously said yes without catching Lee Won’s real question, and I think Tsar will also obviously defend Dmitri cause he’s his right hand until Lee Won have proof.
He’s scared of what he stepped into, and sorry Tsar, your effort of persuading Lee Won will only traumatise him, I mean, can’t you see that he cannot told you about his situation so he choose to ‘break up’ with you instead?
I’m freaking out right now about the next chapter cause I had a feeling that it will go down bad, …. very bad
